- Selected official may opt either grade pay of the post or pay + deputation allowance. DA ceiling (7th CPC): 10% of basic pay (outstation, max ₹9,000) / 5% (local, max ₹4,500).
- Overall deputation tenure ordinarily not beyond 3 years (extendable with approval).
